Josh Ronsen formed Brekekekexkoaxkoax as a vehicle for solo prepared guitar performances in 1996, but collaborations with other artists as equals started on day one. Rick Reed first projected his film work at the first Brekekekexkoaxkoax performance.
Other collaborators have been John Grzinich, Michael Northam, Jason Pierce, Steev Hise and three improvising quartets of multi-instrumentalists (Jacob Green, Bill Thompson, Vanessa Arn), (Jacob Green, Genevieve Walsh, Glen Nuckolls) and (Jacob Green, Thomas Fang and Greg Headley). Josh Russell, Travis Weller, Mari Akita, Alex Keller, Brent Fariss, and Nick Hennies have also contributed in special projects.
A Brekekekexkoaxkoax experience can include noise, light, movement, blindfolds, handphones (hand-mounted speakers), literature, performance art, foil, string. There is no common thread of reason which links all Brekekekexkoaxkoax events. Instead, each one opens new methods of creativity, exploring new modes of internal (unconscious?) desire.
Christian Di Vito was born in 1979 and spent his adolescence in the Rome hardcore – punk scene.
At the time he played electric bass, with an interest in electronic music, emulating artists of Warp and Rephlex labels.
In the early years of the new millennium Christian Di Vito began to create experiments with new sounds; heavily influenced by Xenakis, Scelsi, Ligeti he started a more mature musical research, taking care of a personal aesthetic of sound and creating meticulous compositions.
In the last years he collaborated with Daniele Santini, Delirio Sonoro and released split albums with Maurizio Bianchi and Noise Workshop.

Lino Strangis is a visual artist and an experimental electronic musician. Born in 1981, he lives and works in Rome.
He is the founder and director of C.A.R.M.A. – Centro d’Arti e Ricerche Multimediali Applicate – an association for the promotion of the contemporary arts, with a special attention to the electronic arts (video, video installations, computer art, sound art, intermedia acting, avant-garde cinema, experimental electronic music).
